Where the money goes

The Foundation operates with minimal overhead. Contributions go directly toward maintaining the specification, running the reference implementation, and supporting the working groups that keep the standard moving forward.

All spending is governed by the Foundation's members and disclosed in annual reports. There are no investment returns, equity stakes, or token allocations of any kind. This is operational funding for public infrastructure.
